Description

The “Blood-Soaked Retrobution” EP (release date 31.07.2009) is INFECTED BRAIN's 4th release. What makes this EP special is the fact that it can be downloaded completely free of charge. The download includes a multicoloured cover plus inlay card so that everybody can print out the artwork and manufacture their own CD at home.

By the way, although the EP is a freebie there have been no compromises regarding sound or production. You can expect the same quality as on our previous releases.

The EP contains 6 songs which we'd like to comment shortly in order to provide some background information.

Blood Soaked Retribution is a relatively new song which has become a fixture in our live set over the last months. The song represents our current musical status and points out the direction in which we're going with the next album.

The Inmost Dense was written by – what a coincidence – INMOST DENSE. The band still exists but has been put on the back burner a few years ago when things started moving for INFECTED BRAIN. Members are Carsten Fenske (drums), his brother Wolfram Fenske (guitars), Hannes Baermann (vox), and Daniel Friedrich (bass), the latter also playing in an alternative band called ALLGEMEINKONKRET. The song dates from 19?? and was one of the first songs written by the band. There might be another album by INMOST DENSE some day, but no one knows for sure, including us.

Kampf des Lebens (ca. 1994) is a song by BRAIN DEAD – a band that could be called the predecessor of INFECTED BRAIN. The line-up was: Torsten Schmidt (vox), Enrico Drachau (bass), David Schaefer (guitars), and Andreas Dietze (drums). The song was written by guitar player David who is currently active in the band GROWTH.

Black Day Of Ypern is a song by the band TOMB from 1997. The song was written in 1997 by Hannes Bärmann, who was TOMB's drummer but already played some guitar back then. “Black Day Of Ypern” was originally released on TOMB's MCD “Mask Of Disgrace” (1999) which was recorded and produced by Andreas Hilbert, the mastermind behind GOLEM.

Members are Carsten Fenske (drums), his brother Wolfram Fenske (guitars), Hannes Bärmann (vox), and Daniel Friedrich (bass), the latter also playing in ALLGEMEINKONKRET and ABSURD MANGLER. The Inmost Dense was one of the first songs written by the band and was released in 2000 on the Purified album. There might be another album by INMOST DENSE some day, but no one knows for sure, including us.

Leichenschmaus was the first song written by INFECTED BRAIN after the dissolution of BRAIN DEAD. It was also the first song to be composed and played by Enrico on the guitar. The song has never been recorded or released before and thus receives its premiere on the EP.

I Will Kill You  And as a little encore we recorded I Will Kill You (Polka Edition) a.k.a. I Won’t Kill You a.k.a. Kill You, Drill You, Fuckin’ Fill You... no further comment.
